Claudreen Jackson
lives and works in Detroit, Michigan. She is a retired special education
teacher from Detroit Elementary Schools. She is the mother of four children
and became active as an advocate for people with disabilities because
of her youngest son's disability. She says that the fact that her son
can't speak gave her the courage to speak for him.
.
Claudreen has been writing poetry for about twenty years and at some
point speaking out and poetry came together and resulted in this book.
"I'm very thankful that in America we have free speech and free
enterprise. There is so much bad news in society today that maybe it's
time for those of us who have a positive message to speak out. 'Let
There Be Light' represents my wish for society."
Claudreen is married
to Pervis Jackson, a member of the award winning Spinners singing group
who are still performing after more than 40 years in show business.
Her poems have been published in various newspapers and anthologies
and are available as lyrics for musicians who can put a melody to them.
